    Servicing motorcycles in Hong Kong

Far fewer registered workshops take motorcycles than cars, because the tools, lifting equipment and skills are different. Some specialise; others take them alongside cars.

Brakes, tyres and chain are the items needing regular attention. A motorcycle's contact patch is a fraction of a car's, so tyre pressure and tread depth matter more directly — worth checking monthly yourself.

    Servicing motorcycles: common questions

Why do fewer workshops take motorcycles?

The tools, lifting equipment and skills differ from car work and need separate investment, so only some registered workshops declare motorcycles. This page lists all those that do.

How often should a motorcycle be serviced?

Roughly every 3,000-5,000 km or every three to six months for basic servicing covering oil, chain, brake pads and tyres. Shorten that for bikes ridden in the wet or parked outdoors.
